Proud Scotsman David Middleton has been in the removals business for over 30 years starting in the industry in 1986 with nothing to his name. After moving down to the Midlands in the early 90’s Dave worked for many major removal companies. He worked hard with the ambition of owning his own removal company in the future. So the idea of Middleton Moving Birmingham was born.
In 1997 during the time of Brown and Treen, Dave acquired certificates in ‘Office & commercial moving techniques’, ‘Inland packing techniques’ and ‘Export wrapping techniques’. 2004 was really the kick starter year for Dave. In 2004 after nearly 20 years in the industry, Dave left his employer to be a courier. He also started his agency Professional Assistance which still trades today to supply some of the bigger outfits in the Midlands with labour.
A removals company established in 2012
The year of 2005 saw Dave buy his first removals van. A 3.5t Iveco Luton which stayed with Dave for the best part of 8 years. During this year Dave also earned his heavy goods vehicle license. Fast track a few years down the line to 2012. This is the year where Middleton Moving was created. Himself and the 3.5t Iveco Luton could only go so far and therefore a larger 7.5t vehicle joined the fleet.
In the winter months of 2014, Dave then acquired a 40ft Pantechnicon HGV to assist with the larger home removals as well as container storage.
Middleton Moving Birmingham
February 2016 saw a new venture for Middleton Moving. With container storage being part of the plan the Middleton Moving team relocated into an office and adjoining warehouse on the Tyburn trading estate. Inside the 75 container capacity warehouse is a forklift for the moving of containers along with single item racks and student storage lockers. Located here is also a full range of mattress and suite covers and various wardrobe cartons.
Coming from nothing you can really see how much Dave has achieved and with a tag line of ‘Excellence as Standard’ you can see why.
